 What is Faculty Development?

Why do we have it?

  •  Encouraging and assisting faculty to pursue scholarly activities

  •  Organizing workshops and seminars in skills in such as teaching, writing, presentation, research, leadership
  •   Participating in studies on faculty development
  •  Serving as a clearinghouse for faculty interests and activities
  •  Providing specific skills for educators - in collaboration with the  Office of Medical Education, Faculty Development is an integral part of this effort, with extensive educational programs geared to improve faculty skills specifically in teaching and curriculum management
  •  Collaborating with the Office of Continuing Medical Education to provide programs relevant to faculty
