U.S. Air Force
Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP)

The Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) and the Financial Assistance Program (FAP) are two Air Force initiatives designed to provide financial assistance to students who are physically and academically qualified to become Air Force officers and are interested in attaining one of several types of health-related degrees.  In exchange, these officers serve an active duty service obligation within the United States Air Force Medical Service.  These programs are the main accession source of medical personnel for the Air Force, with over 75% of all medical officers currently on active duty as its graduates.  The program is governed by Air Force Instruction (AFI) 41-110, Applying to Medical Schools and Medical Programs.

The HPSP pays the student's tuition, all required school fees, and provides a monthly taxable stipend. Reimbursement for the cost of most required textbooks and limited reimbursements for required equipment is also included.
