FOUR PRIMARY SELECTION CRITERIA: Automatic acceptance with 3.5 GPA w/29 MCAT or 19 DAT

1. Undergraduate or Graduate Transcripts (MUST BE ORIGINALS)
2. Letters of Recommendation from Professionals or Professors (MINIMUM OF 3 LETTERS)
3. School Entrance Exam Scores (MCAT'S, DAT'S, OAT'S OR GRE'S)
4. Letter of Acceptance from a Professional School (MUST ALREADY BE ACCEPTED)

(Note: The Army's Scholarship IS TRANSFERABLE. You can apply with one acceptance and transfer prior to ever starting school.)

SELECTION PROCESS

1. A board made up of professionals in various fields, which convenes on a scheduled date to review all applicants packages.
   
2. Upon completion of the the board, the aplicants name will appear in one of three categories:
   
   
   • SELECTED: Applicant granted the scholarship.
   
   
   
   • ALTERNATE: Applicant not selected. However, if any of the Primary Selects decline thier scholarships, the Alternate may be offered the scholarship.
   
   
   
   • NON-SELECTED: Applicants packet was declined. Applicant must then wait one year prior to resubmitting packet for review.
   
   
   

(Note: Applicants will be contacted by their health care recruiter within 72 hours of the board results being posted (Approximately three weeks from the date the boards meets). The health care recruiter will provide further guidance at that time.

ENTITLEMENT FACT SHEET:

100% PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL TUITION
You attend the school of your choice. HPSP is good in any accredited professional school in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.

BOOKS, EQUIPMENT AND MOST ACADEMIC FEES
Because prices differ, you purchase the required books and equipment. Keep all reciepts! You then submit reciepts witha military form and the Army reimburses you.

MONTHLY STIPEND
You will recieve a stipend for 10 1/2 months per school year. (THIS MONEY IS TAXABLE)

ARMY OFFICER'S PAY
For the remaining 1 1/2 months, you will recieve active duty pay as a Second Lieutenant (2LT).

*MONTHLY ALLOWANCE FOR 10 1/2 MONTHS PER SCHOOL YEAR: $1058 X 10.5=$11,109.00
*ACTIVE DUTY PAY FOR 1 1/2 MONTHS PER SCHOOL YEAR: BASE PAY (2LT UNDER TWO YEARS CREDIT FOR PAY): $1,997.70 X 1.5=$2,996.55 (TAXABLE)
BASIC ALLOWANCE FOR HOUSING (BAH SINGLE): $426.30 X 1.5=$639.45 (NON-TAXABLE)
BASIC ALLOWANCE FOR SUBSISTENCE (BAS): $151.50 X 1.5=$227.25 (NON-TAXABLE)
TOTAL ACTIVE DUTY PAY IS $ 3,863.25
TOTAL HPSP ANNUAL ENTITLEMENT IS $ 15272.25
