The Creighton University Surgical Residency Program emphasizes the clinical and investigative foundations of surgery. Our training program consists of five clinical years of instruction.

The stable and progressive growth of our training program has enabled the ACGME to approve an increase in the number of categorical positions we offer from three to four. Additionally, we offer two first year preliminary positions of junior level training for those planning to enter other specialties. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive surgical education incorporating diverse operative experiences, structured didactic sessions, and mentoring by internationally acclaimed faculty. In addition, the clinical experiences add immeasurably to a resident's medical knowledge, diagnostic ability, and surgical confidence.
