Dr. Stokes is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Creighton University in Omaha and is board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Pulmonary, and Allergy and Immunology.  He received his medical degree and did his residency at the University of Kansas Medical School.  Dr. Stokes did both his Pediatric Pulmonary and Allergy/Immunology fellowships at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals & Clinics.  From August 1998 – June 2002 he was a staff physician at The Asthma and Allergy Center in Papillion, NE.

 Dr. Stokes joined the faculty at Creighton University in July 2002.   From 2003-2005, Dr. Stokes served as the Assistant Program Director for the Fellowship Program.  In 2005, Dr. Stokes became Program Director of the Creighton University Allergy & Immunology Fellowship Program. Dr. Stokes is a member of several professional societies including: the American Thoracic Society, the Nebraska Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; he is a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology.

Dr. Stokes’ research interests are directed toward the treatment of asthma and allergic diseases. He has been an investigator on over 80 clinical trials and is currently the principal investigator on a study investigating dyspnea and obesity in African-American females.  He has published over 18 scientific papers, reviews and chapters on these topics.
