Summer Research Program

The purpose of the Medical Student Summer Research program, funded by the Center of Excellence (COE), is to immerse underrepresented minority (URM) students in research and the scientific method. The program offers medical students a unique opportunity to gain research experience during medical school and valuable time to focus more deeply on their area of interest.

All URM medical students are encouraged to apply, if interested. After acceptance into the program, the participants can look forward to approximately ten to twelve weeks of fascinating and rewarding research.

Participants receive a $3000 stipend at the end of the summer. The stipend is paid in three $1000 installments and the final payment will be paid upon completion of the project.
