The Magis Clinic reached its one-year milestone in October 2005 of providing quality no-fee acute care for the homeless and uninsured. As with any new organization we have had our ups and downs, but we have managed to accomplish more than we had ever imagined. Here are some quick facts about the clinic:
- 314 new patients
- 500+ patients in 50 days of Saturday clinics (including repeat visitors)
- $50,000 in private donations and grants
- Expansion into new space provided by the Siena/Francis House
- First Annual Magis Classic Golf Tournament raised close to $20,000 and sponsors have already committed to next year's tournament.
- 2 specialty clinics - diabetic eye care and a children's vaccination clinic were both well attended
- 200+ volunteers from Creighton School of Medicine experienced hands-on patient care
