One of the strengths of this residency is the didactic teaching program. All of the services and the nursing staff are aware of the emphasis we place on these programs and try to ensure that the residents are free from clinical activities at this time. Residents are required to attend 60% of the department conferences. Feedback from each resident is an essential tool for the improvement of educational opportunities. The didactic program includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Grand Rounds

  • Clinical Pathology Case Conference

  • Patient Management Conferences

  • Acute Care Core Curriculum

  • Research Design & Statistical Conferences

  • Medical Legal Series

  • Clinical Ethics Series

  • Journal Club

  • Ambulatory Morning Report

  • ILAC International Service Rotation

  • Cardoner Retreat

  • Clinical Pharmacology

  • Harrison Club

  • Oncology Conference

  • Specific Subspecialty Conferences

  • Professor Rounds

  • Managed Care Curriculum

  • Medicare Compliance Conference

  • Impaired Physician Conference

  • Educational Leave of seven days each year for all senior residents with an educational stipend in the third or fourth year of the program.
