| Creighton University Medical Center is a 400 plus bed acute care facility. This hospital provides state of the art care while serving as a setting for education and research programs. There are over 10,000 admissions and approximately 27,000 emergency department visits each year. Creighton University Medical Center (CUMC) is the training site for about 270 residents and fellows from accredited programs in anesthesiology, family practice, neurology, obstetrics/gynecology, pathology, pediatrics, psychiatry, diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, colorectal surgery, in addition to the internal medicine and med/peds programs and its related fellowships of allergy/ immunology, cardiology, pulmonary/critical care, and infectious diseases. CUMC provides care to patients from a 150 mile radius of western Iowa and eastern Nebraska, in addition to the residents of the city of Omaha. This Level I trauma center offers advanced cardiology services, complete surgical services, including kidney transplantation, state of the art radiology services, and emergency care in a brand new emergency room.

Omaha Veterans Administration Medical Center provides primary and tertiary care to veterans from all over the state of Nebraska and western Iowa. Cases are referred to the Omaha VAMC from the VA hospitals in Lincoln and Grand Island, Nebraska, as well as Sioux City, Iowa and Hot Springs, South Dakota for specialized care. This 398 bed facility has approximately 74 medicine acute care beds. The Omaha VAMC is shared as a training facility with the residents and fellows from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The VA is a training site for residents and fellows in anesthesiology, allergy/immunology, cardiology, infectious diseases, internal medicine, neurology, neurological surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, pathology, psychiatry, pulmonary/critical care, diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, general surgery and urology.

| The
University of Nebraska Medical Center
is the professional school branch of the University of Nebraska. Creighton Med/Peds residents may participate in specialized pediatrics rotations at UNMC. NHS Clarkson Hospital/University Hospital support a range of medical specialties and subspecialties and are known world-wide for its efforts in solid organ and bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, oncology, high-risk obstetrics, neonatology, genetics, and human nutrition.

| Children's Hospital moved into its third home; a 275,000 square foot facility, on September 30, 2000. According to Gary A. Perkins, President and CEO, the $87 million hospital reflects the hospital's commitment to family-centered care, leading edge pediatric services and medical education. Children's serves as the primary inpatient teaching site for the joint Creighton University/ University of Nebraska pediatric residency program. Children's also serves as the pediatric training site for the family practice residency programs at Clarkson Hospital, Creighton University and University of Nebraska, and for many of the region's nursing and health professions schools. |
