Ryan Basham recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Creighton University with a degree in biology. Ryan began his college education at UC Davis and transferred to Creighton in August of 2001. In college, he assisted with clinical research in Glaucoma at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and played drums for two years with the university jazz ensemble. As a volunteer, Ryan worked in the Emergency Room at UC Davis Medical Center, spent a month in the N. Philippine islands working an eye clinic for the blind, and traveled to the S. Philippine islands on a medical mission. He enjoys surfing, skateboarding, and swimming. In his free time, he loves to play piano and Latin percussion. Ryan wants to be an ophthalmologist and hopes to provide aid for the blind in medically underserved parts of the world.
