Miriam Bornhorst graduated Summa Cum Laude from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota with a degree in Biology and Clinical Laboratory Science. At St Scholastica, Miriam was active in the admissions department, served on the Student Senate for two years, and was treasurer of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship for two years. Miriam spent three to four hours a week volunteering in Duluth. Her main activities included teaching swimming lessons and helping with teen night for Courage Duluth, and co-organizing and directing the Gloria Dei puppet group which composed of children from 5th-9th grade and performed puppet shows for church groups, a single parent group, and at a juvenile detention center. Following graduation, Miriam worked for two years as a Medial Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist for Children's Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. During this time, her beautiful son, Vincent, was born. Miriam wanted to attend Creighton University because of it's non-competitive learning atmosphere, and commitment to community service. Miriam loves working with children and would like to become a pediatrician, possibly specializing in Pediatric Infectious Disease or Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
