Mike hails straight out of paradise from San Diego, CA. He attended Loyola University Chicago for 2 years, before transferring to the University of San Diego to enjoy Southern California for a few more years. Graduating Summa cum Laude with biology departmental honors from USD with a biology major and chemistry minor, Mike went on to work at the Scripps Research Institute as a Research Technician and then for the Scripps Clinic and as a Film Librarian. Other medically-related experiences for this young man include surgical grand rounds at UCSD, volunteering at Sharp Hospital for 4 years, shadowing a surgical oncologist and an interventional radiologist, and having several physicians in my family have exposed me to medicine all of my life. Mike’s reasons for becoming a physician are simply to 'combine my knowledge and desire to help those in need into a profession dedicated to the service of others.' Hobbies include basketball (watching not playing since the injury), astronomy, and body boarding.
