Carl went to college at Pacific University in Oregon and graduated in 2003 with a degree in Biology. While in college he was involved in track and cross country and played in the college's band in addition to his pre-med studies. He spent time volunteering with Oregon Health & Science University's hospital and with Habitat for Humanity. After graduating Carl spent time working as a wild land firefighter and also worked at a group home for people with developmental disabilities. He came to school at Creighton because he likes the school's commitment to service and the low cost of living in Omaha. After graduating he wants to become a Family Practice physician and practice in a rural area. When he's not studying Carl likes to run, bike, and hike. His favorite movie is The Shawshank Redemption. He is a lifelong Oregon Ducks fan. He doesn't have any weird hidden talents. He lives by the quote from the movie Joe Dirt, 'You gotta keep on keepin' on.'
