Julie Ingwerson
Plattsmouth, NE
Julie Ingwerson graduated Summa Cum Laude from Creighton University with a degree in exercise science.  She has been a member of the women's cross country team while at Creighton University.  She has volunteered for the Nebraska Cornhusker Flyers track club, Operation Bluejay, YWCA, Boys and Girls Club, the Omaha Marathon, and the Sienna Francis House.  As a student, Julie was a member of AMSA, NCSA, intramural basketball and soccer, and the EXCEL club.  She has worked as a nursing assistant and been an intern at Creighton's Cardiac Center.  She grew up in her hometown of Plattsmouth, NE.  'I love to interact with and to help people,' she said.  'The aspect of medicine that intrigues me is caring about people and helping them live the kind of life they want to live.'  After completing her undergraduate career, Julie liked Creighton so much that she did not want to leave.  'I love the atmosphere of all of Creighton's institutions.  The Jesuit background helps me to feel a balance between school and the rest of life,' she said. 'I also was attracted to Creighton's very personable staff and their clinically based curriculum throughout all 4 years of medical school.  I want to become part of an institution that is focused on patient care.'
