"Ben Ladner is from Long Beach, Mississippi. Ben graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mississippi State University in 2003 with a B.S. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and a B.S. in Microbiology. While at Mississippi State, Ben founded the MSU Recycling and Environmental Organization and was president of the MSU chapter of the American Medical Student Association. Ben was a member of the MSU Honors Program governing board, the MSU Health and Wellness Committee, and the MSU Disabled Student Affairs Committee. Before beginning medical school, he spent a year working in the Trauma Department of an emergency in Gulfport, Mississippi. In his spare time, Ben enjoys playing the piano, sports, and spending time with family and friends. He chose Creighton University School of Medicine ""because of the supportive administrators, professors, and other students."" Ben is currently ""enjoying the many service opportunities available at Creighton,"" while he gains his medical education."
