1. Assess
patients admitted to an Inpatient Medical Service

1. Understand the principles of diagnosis and management of important medical diseases including but not limited to the following:
a. Chest Pain
b. COPD
c. Congestive Heart Failure
d. Ischemic Heart Disease (includes Myocardial Infarction)
e. Fluid/Electrolyte and Acid-Base Disorders
f. Anemia
g. Diabetes
h. Renal Insufficiency/Failure (Chronic Kidney Disease)
i. Hypertension
j. Substance Abuse
k. Smoking Cessation
l. Abdominal Pain
m. Altered Mental Status
i. EVALUATION METHODS: USMLE Subject Examination, Daily rounds with faculty attending and residents, completion of Patient Logbooks
