Endocrinology Division

General Description

Creighton University Division of Endocrinology provides student and resident teaching in general endocrinology. The Divisions provides primary care for endocrine diseases as well as consultative support for Creighton Medical Associates

Research

The Endocrine Division is a major research center for osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease. It is also a major Diabetes research center. Research interests include studies of metabolic pathways for phenol sulfotransferase isoenzymes, drug treatment of diabetes mellitus, would healing in diabetes, drug treatment of osteoporosis, vitamin D metabolism and calcium absorption, and genetic regulation of bone mass.

Medical Education

Members of the division participate in teaching second year medical students and in conducting clinical clerkships and resident rotations in endocrinology. Members of the division deliver CME lectures and other invited lectures nationwide and worldwide.

Clinical

Members of the division conduct outpatient clinic sessions seven half days per week. These sessions include osteoporosis clinics, diabetes clinics, and general endocrine clinics.
