Policy:

Guidelines for income which is not generated through usual clinical practice

Procedures:

1. Honoraria for lectures or professional may be retained by the individual.

2. Reimbursement for patient or medical record evaluation shall be deposited in a Creighton University restricted fund and distribution shall be determined by the Department Chair.

3. Reimbursement for lectures, professional services or legal testimony whereby the Creighton employee markets himself/herself as an expert for hire or which is performed on a regular or recurrent basis shall be deposited in a Creighton University restricted fund, and these activities shall require approval of the Department Chair.

4. No employee may contract to provide professional services without approval of Creighton University and all income will be deposited in a Creighton University restricted fund.

5. All income for consultation and attending services at a Veterans Administration Hospital shall be deposited in a Creighton University restricted fund. The distribution of these funds will be determined by the Department Chair.
