Guidelines to provide research supplements for Ph.D.
faculty in Medicine.
1. For full-time faculty- expected range of compensation is between the median and 75th percentiles, national AAMC data, for basic science faculty, adjusted for inflation.
2.
The faculty member’s
compensation may be tied to the AAMC statistics for the typical basic science
department that would employ them.
3.
Total compensation
meaningfully above the 75th percentile can only be for separately
negotiated supplements for objectively documentable, specifically funded
administrative duties.
4.
Total compensation
meaningfully below the median would be based on reduced duties/effort below
that of the typical PhD faculty member in the Department (e.g. 40 vs 55
hour week, etc, based on funded effort and other documented, objective measures
of faculty assignments).
5. Research supplements can only be adjusted in future contract periods.
