Medical Center Hosts "Red"ception for Red Dress Day Friday, February 6, 2004
4:00-5:00 p.m. The Cardiac Center of Creighton University Medical Center is hosting a "Red"ception in honor of the American Heart Associationšs "Go Red for Women" event on Friday, February 6th. Creighton faculty, staff and students are encouraged to wear red on Friday to help raise awareness about the prevalence of heart disease in women. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the #1 killer of women. The Creighton community is invited to attend a reception from 4:00-5:00 p.m. hosted by the cardiologists at The Cardiac Center, 3006 Webster St. At 4:30 p.m., red-clad guests will be invited to stand together in the shape of a heart and pose for a group photo. Heart-healthy refreshments will be served, and attendees can pick up information regarding the heart disease risks for women. A drawing will be held to win a Swarovski crystal "red dress" pin. Don't forget "Girls Night Out!" Gather up some friends to help fight heart disease while you enjoy a fun night out at a participating restaurant Thursday, Feb. 5 from 5:00-10:00 p.m. Proceeds from the evening will go to the American Heart Association.
