Creighton Cardiac Center Embraces Trend for Heart Health

The yellow rubber bracelets made popular with the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s Live Strong campaign have become a fashion statement for many. To celebrate American Heart Month, The Cardiac Center at Creighton University Medical Center is making its own statement with red bracelets for heart health. The bracelets are available for $1 each at The Cardiac Center, 3006 Webster Street. Proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.

The inscription on the bracelets, “HEART HEALTH – YOU HAVE THE POWER,” is meant to raise awareness of heart health while empowering the wearer to take charge of his or her own health by committing to a heart-healthy lifestyle. The Cardiac Center at Creighton University Medical Center is committed to helping the public do just that, according to Susan Walsh, the center’s administrative director.

"The Cardiac Center is proud to offer these bracelets to the community as a way to promote the benefits of adopting a heart-healthy lifestyle while raising money for the American Heart Association," said Walsh. "We'd love to see a red bracelet on every wrist in Omaha."
