Creighton's faculty and students recently showcased their innovations and research in medical education at the Central Group on Educational Affairs (CGEA) annual meeting in Kansas City. The CGEA is a regional organization of the Association of American Medical Colleges comprised of 37 medical schools. Ten Creighton faculty members from five different departments and 3 medical students participated in the program. Office of Medical Education staff members also participated and three curriculum coordinators (Joy Rich, Debbie Badura and Deb Brandon) entered the CGEA Curriculum Coordinators Certificate Program. Erica Cichowski MD and Kathryn Huggett PhD from the department of Medicine were recognized with an award as the Best New Investigators for their study regarding student attitudes and confidence in counseling patients on health promotion topics. In all, Creighton faculty made 14 presentations at the meeting.
