45 million Americans have no health insurance. More than eight million of
these uninsured Americans are children. To observe National Cover the
Uninsured Week, Creighton University is hosting a town hall meeting
Thursday, April 28, 2005 from noon to 12:55 p.m. in the Hixson-Lied Science
Building auditorium, 2555 Burt Street. The discussion, entitled “Covering the Uninsured: Whose Responsibility?” will feature Creighton faculty members providing commentary and posing questions to the audience. Participating faculty include Donald Frey, M.D., associate professor and chair of the Department of Family Medicine; Beth Furlong, PhD., J.D., associate professor of nursing; Donna Pawlowski, PhD., associate professor of communication studies; Eugene Rich, M.D. professor and chair of the Department of Medicine; and Todd Salzman, PhD., associate professor of theology. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Attendees may bring their lunch.
