Fleece Baby Blankets
We are excited that we are now selling fleece baby blankets as a fund raiser for our group. The sale of these blankets is going to help the Pediatric Interest Group provide future enhancement activities for our members as well as allow us to present blankets to many well deserving patients. We understand that for any patient being in the hospital can be a very hard time, especially for a child. Our hope is that we will be able to send a few patients in need home with a blanket, something that they can hopefully keep for a long time to come.

If you are interested in purchasing a Fleece Baby Blanket please fill our the order form. A couple of things to please keep in mind. We are medical students and are quite busy. So we ask for your patience. If you haven’t heard from us within 72 hrs (excluding holidays), please try and contact us again. Our primary form of communication will be email. The subject of the email will always be “Creighton PIG Fleece Blanket”. Please check your junk mail if after 72 hours you haven’t initially heard from us. Last, if you don’t have an email address our second form of communication will be by phone. This could take up to a week for us to make initial contact with you. Shadowing
Creighton Medical Students have the opportunity to shadow Dr. Yaghmour and Dr. Fernandez at Creighton and one of the Hospitalists at Children's Hospital. Students are able to shadow Dr. Yaghmour or Dr. Fernandez at Creighton on Saturdays and the Children's Hospital physicians on weeknights. These are both valuable opportunities for students to gain a greater understanding of what it means to work in Pediatrics. It's open to all students including first and second year students. The password for the sign up's is PIG.

Tar Wars
A new activity this year for the Pediatric Interest Group is the Tar Wars. These are anti-tobacco presentations given to 5th graders. We plan to work with UNMC on this activity. Usually 3 or 4 medical students work together. We are looking to start up in January. American Academy of Pediatrics Membership
We encourage our Pediatric Interest Group members to join the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Membership is $16 dollars a year. This is something that looks really good when applying to Residency Programs.
